DUBAI - A plane travelling from Thiruvananthapuram in India with 275 passengers and crew on board has crash-landed at Dubai International Airport. A spokesman for Emirates Airlines said: “Emirates can confirm that an incident happened at Dubai International Airport on August 3 at about 12.45pm local time. “There were 275 passengers and crew on board. Our main priority now is the safety and well-being of all involved. We are extending full co-operation to authorities and emergency services managing the situation. We will update the Emirates website and social media channels as more information becomes available.” The Dubai government media office said on its official Twitter account that the flight had arrived from India, adding that there were no reported casualties yet. Dubai International Airport is the busiest airport in the world and is situated in the heart of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. In 2015, the airport handled 78 million passengers, 2.51 million tonnes of cargo and registered 403,517 aircraft movements.(FA)
