Bangkok - The 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup kicked off Thursday in Thailand. Africa will be represented at the competition by three of its heavyweights notably, Egypt, Libya and Morocco.

After falling to Egypt in the first leg qualifiers 8-2, Nigeria withdrew to make things easy for the futsal Pharaohs. On their part, Morocco sealed their place after beating Mozambique on a 10-3 aggregate while Lybia made it 10-4 over South Africa. The North African trio is already in Thailand for the world futsal show that ends on 18 November.
