LONDON - Scientists have told the BBC it is “only a matter of time” before the United Kingdom (UK) faces a new national lockdown to tackle the second wave of Covid-19.
Sir Jeremy Farrar, a member of the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE), says any delay will mean later restrictions will be “harder and longer”.
Meanwhile, a new UK campaign group, Recovery, has criticised the government’s willingness to impose lockdowns, claiming that “rushed legislation” prioritises quantity of life over the quality of life.
