ISRAELI OCCUPIED GAZA - Gazan detainees continue to be "tortured" in Israel's notorious Ofer prison through beatings, deprivation of showers and being shackled for hours, the Palestinian rights group Al Asra Media Office said in a statement on Monday.
Israeli forces have deprived detainees of using showers except "once every 10 days for three minutes", the group said.
Rights groups had documented outbreaks of scabies among detainees in several Israeli prisons, including Ofer, due to a lack of medical attention and hygiene.
Al Asra also said prisoners are being beaten through a hole in the door of the cell.
"A prisoner with amputated legs told the lawyer that he had to be carried by two prisoners to reach the hole and after he put his hands out he was brutally beaten by the jailers because he did not get off the 'bed' during roll call," Al Asra reported.
